Onward to a New Odyssey

A Look to the Past

As we venture onward to new challenges, ideas, and journeys we would like to take a moment to look back on where we came.

Philosophy Thoughts

Life is a grand challenge, but we can achieve so much in such a short time. If we all work together our wonders can come true, no matter how big or daunting the project is or was. We are all important to the greater good of our beautiful world.

Hate and anger corrupts your well being in more ways than you might realize.

Don't let anger cloud your judgement, forgive and move on to new opportunities.

The Dark Vs. Light

As I walked home I looked up at the sky and see a large, ominous, cloud lurking overhead. I thought "Dark times are ahead", then I looked a little farther (below the cloud), and saw a clear and light sky. My point is no matter how dark the road may seem there always is a bright light at the end of the tunnel.

Couple of the most important quotes I have ever heard.

"Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind." - Dr. Seuss

"You must be the change you wish to see in the world." - Mahatma Gandhi

Knowledge is Power

They say knowledge is power, but is it? I believe that power is when you can use that knowledge for the greater good of mankind, rather than your own personal ideals.Greed is a poison that seeps its way into the mind and creates a delusion that is hard to vanish.

Philosophy is the Way of Life

When most people think of philosophy they think of abstract and controversial concepts. Which at the time of conception, they might have been. In our modern life we have come to terms with the fact that most philosophical ideas and dialogue are, at its core, common sense.

A lot of philosophical ideas are truly wonders of life, and should be treated as such. You can't go about your life without it, or it is a life wasted. Sounds harsh although there is many examples, take Adolf Hitler, an infamous man. He was such a hated man, he is still hated by people to this very day, but he had philosophy. He had his own philosophical ideals, the "Aryan" way of life you could say. Although his faults he was a well-respected man within his ranks. For he knew how to captivate a crowd, albeit presumably by sharing his philosophy.

The point stands to question why we even question the importance of philosophy to this day, but isn't that the point of philosophy? To question it?

What Learning Everyday will do for You.

The hectic nature of our lives now, is partly due to technology, but also due to our ever-growing culture. We constantly crave knowledge (knowingly or not).

For years I have pondered on where I the U.L.C. to go. The thought always came to the conclusion "We’re are going to talk about new age tech that will reinvent the way you live alongside our various philosophical posts." That is what I decided on, for when I created this idea I wanted to cultivate new ideas (or rather ideas that were just forgotten) and create a community of which that was founded on these ideas.

The United Living Construct if you will. A construct that focuses on living together in a peaceful and "united" way. There is too much separation and segregation now, in our future holds great challenges and rewards. We MUST change the way we live NOW, or we will never get to see it.

A Portrait of the Future

Take a moment whether you're at work or school, and take a deep breath.

Imagine this, there is a bright, vibrant blue sky.

Clouds are tucked away in different niches. There are people walking past you, smiling, waving. You are in a open city, the sky is quite the limit when it comes to your opportunities, but technology has allowed us to surpass even that. People are raised in an environment that fosters peace and innovation, so when they grow up they are still the happy individuals that they already were.

There is no crime, no violence, for there isn't any reason to be. Everybody is fed, everybody is working, and everybody has a home to which they can customize to their liking due to new age technology. Education is cultivated not by strict systems but by getting the student to WANT to learn. Schooling starts at 4 years and goes to 21, but there is never a reason to stop learning. There would be a center where people of all ages could go and learn as much as they want about anything and everything. There would be a cafeteria where the entire city would go to eat, possibly at intervals. Students who had been learning history in school could go see their grandparents and ask them what they knew. People from different parts of the city could meet for the first time and create a unique bond.

Advanced Technology like you would see in Sci-Fi movies like Star Wars or Guardians of the Galaxy. The city would be just the right size that you could quite literally walk to the other side in about an hour. There would be of course some sort of transportation, but the beauty of it is there would be no need for vehicles like cars. Perhaps along the lines of a magnet train, or tube transport system. This city would be a beacon of innovation to the entire world, a utopia. This city would be the United Living Construct. This place runs as if it was our future. I hope it to be, for this is what I envision everyday of my life. Not a day goes by that I don't visualize this glorious city-state. It would be a ray of hope and innovation for the entire world. We would cultivate bonds in people that would have instead tore countries apart. We would no longer be separated by the social concept of race. We would instead be together and united to pave way into the future.

This is my thanks to you all. Thank you for coming to the new site! Thank you for reading! Finally, thank you for being the person who you are, and here is to hoping we can temper the person you are into the person you will become!!
